Private John R Rudman Aged 21 yrs

 Killed 15 September 1971. John was shot by the IRA a year before the same organisation killed his brother, Thomas, aged 20.
John had been in a truck travelling to Coalisland when gunmen opened fire near Dungannon ...
his brother Tom who was serving with 1 LI was also killed in Northern
Ireland on 30 September 1972.

Serjeant Arthur( Ty) Whitelock, aged 24 yrs

Killed 24 August 1972. An IRA sniper shot Ty who was on his third, and last, tour of duty as he patrolled in the Shantallow area of Londonderry. Other soldiers returned fire, but the gunmen escaped.

Corporal Thomas P Taylor aged 26 yrs

Killed 13 May 1973. Died from injuries received when a booby-trap exploded in the derelict Maguire and Paterson match factory on the Donegall Road, Belfast. His patrol had been investigating an anonymous telephone report that a gunman had been in the building.

Private John Gaskell aged 22 yrs

Died 14 May 1973 of injuries sustained in the same incident as Corporal Taylor.

Private Reginald B Roberts ages 25 yrs

Killed 1 July 1973 on his 25th birthday by an IRA sniper in the Ballymurphy Estate. He died almost immediately. Private Roberts was one of a number of soldiers protecting others repairing a fence on the estate.

Private P Turner aged 18 yrs

Killed instantly on 28 August 1992 by a single shot in the chest as he stood in the main square in Crossmaglen. This shooting was the first in a series of sniper killings along the border.

He died in a car accident in Northern Ireland on 20/21 July 1979. (there is some confusion over the actual date of death. Probably the car accident occurred on 20 July and he died as a result of his injuries the following day.
